Happy Holidays! See You In 2016!

It's that time of the year where we can all just sit back, take a breath, and enjoy the remainder of the year so we here at the blog are taking a little break.  

We want to thank you all for reading our blog, following us on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram.  2015 was a great year for us but we have some BIG changes coming in early 2016 that we're really looking forward to sharing.

FREE Holiday Printable: Christmas Gift Tags

I would like to share with you all a jpg of my Christmas Gift Tags.

I find these quick and easy to print up and I like to add a little bit of 

glitter to mine. The cards fold over and you can add a little bit more

personal notes than you can to the pre-made sticker type ones.

Punch a hole in the corner and add a bit of string or ribbon.

Out of My Studio: Gifted Hudson Valley

Beautiful Pottery by Hesters Studio

In the small town of Red Hook, just a few miles from Rhinebeck a holiday pop up shop has opened its doors to customers. Featuring wonderful handmade items from 7 of the Makers on Hudson team this is a one stop shop for any discerning customer.

Situated in the Red Hook Community Arts Network or RHCAN gallery space in the heart of Red Hook artists and designers have collaborated to  bring you a wonderful diverse selection of pottery, jewelry, apparel, holiday decorations and more.



Gifted HV is located at the RHCAN Gallery Space located at 7516 N Broadway, Red Hook

Gifted Hudson Valley is the brain child or Amber Haqu of Amberhlynn. She wanted to create a space for local artisans to share their incredible creations. She is manning the space and is looking forward to welcoming you, as she says:

"Not only will these gifts make you and your friends happy, but your purchase will also help out your neighbors"

Where To Find Hudson Valley Etsy This Weekend

 Makers-On-Hudson invites you to meet Hudson Valley Etsy in person this weekend   

This Saturday is "Second Saturday" in Beacon, and Hudson Valley Etsy's Annual Holiday Show returns to the  Howland Cultural Center  for the 7th time. Second Saturdays are a fun way to spend a day in this vibrant city, and everything is within easy walking distance. Here's a preview of just some of the items our members will be featuring.

Sue, of  Digilio Designs, will be on hand with with an assortment of items such as notecards, prints, soft sculpture dolls, and jewelry, all based on her beautiful, original drawings.

Kathryn, of  Huzzah! Unique Handmade Wearables will bring a selection from her shop, including her Nuno Felted silk shawls and scarves, alpaca hats, and felted accessories of all kinds. Sue and Kathryn's work also continues to be featured at Gifted, Hudson Valley  in Red Hook, N.Y. until December 27th.

Marilyn of Pulp Sushi, brings her beautiful collection of contemporary jewelry with a hint of vintage flair to our holiday show again this year.

This is just a small sampling of over 20 artists we are featuring this year, including at many more HV Etsy members. Please stop by. We'd love to meet you all.

Friday and Saturday, Elena, of Elena Rosenberg opens her Winter Fashion Pop-Up at ArtsWestchester in White Plains. Elena will be offering her fine hand knits, as well as a sample sale of one of a kind accessories.

Rounding out our offerings this weekend on Sunday, Erin, of Harp and Thistle will be on the road to Portland Maine to take part in Picnic Portland Holiday Sale. Erin's punch needle embroidery brings a contemporary twist to this time- honored craft.

The weather is going to be almost "picnic worthy," on this mid-December weekend, so get out and take advantage of it, have some fun, spread a little holiday cheer and meet Makers-On-Hudson/Hudson Valley Etsy in person.

The Holiday Countdown Continues

Hudson Valley Etsy is starting the weekend a day early, and with Hanukkah beginning this Sunday, and Christmas only about three weeks away, extra shopping time is a real bonus. On Friday, in Annandale-On-Hudson, two of our members will be vendors at the Bard College Holiday Craft Fair 

 

Make sure you stop in to see Marilyn, of Pulp Sushi, with her vintage inspired, handmade jewelry and Karen, of Karmabee, who brings her silk screened designs on tees, baby clothes, note cards and more.

On Saturday, three of our members will be featured in diverse markets up and down the Hudson Valley. Erin, of  Harp and Thistle, will be in Hudson at the Hudson Winter Walk, with her punch needle embroidery, holiday home decor, and fiber art.

Traveling south to Warwick, N.Y., you can visit Kathryn of  Huzzah Handmade Wearables, at the Holiday Fair at the Warwick Middle School. She will bring her luxury knits and felted accessories to this long established, handmade show.

Sarah, of  SO Handmade, will be in two Ulster County shows this weekend! On Saturday, she'll be in Woodstock at the Sudbury School Winter Gift Sale.  On Sunday, she will be in Saugerties at the Fiber Flame Holiday Craft Show.

Cindy of  Cynla, will be busy both Saturday and Sunday down at the Chelsea Market in New York City for the Handmade Cavalcade. Her stationery, based on her original drawings and designs, will fit the bill for any occasion.
