In My Studio: Pantone Color of the Year 2016

Every year Pantone launches a color of the year which is set to inspire and influence everything from fashion to home wares for that coming year. In a change from tradition this year Pantone has named a blend of two colors Rose Quartz and Serenity as their colors of the year. Pantone says that their selection is

A symbolic color selection; a color snapshot of what we see taking place in our culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.

By using Pantones suggested colors of the year designers and makers can tap into new trends in the marketplace. Etsy itself is likely to pick up on these trends and could potentially use these products in features and Etsy Finds.

The Medieval Festival at Fort Tyron Park brings to life the customs and spirit of the Middle Ages. Performers, guests and festival goers dress in medieval costume. Visitors are greeted by authentic medieval music, dance, magic, and minstrels, as well as jugglers and jesters. The afternoon is concluded with a thrilling joust between four knights on horseback. Costumed vendors will be on hand to demonstrate and sell a wide variety of medieval crafts as well as food and drink.

Happy almost weekend!
Why not head down to NYC for a little city trip this weekend? Make sure to stop by my old haunt Fort Tryon Park in the Washington Heights neighborhood for the Medieval Festival of Fort Tryon Park. Our very own Dara Gallery will be there selling her gorgeous masks. It's all happening this Sunday, September 28, from 11:30AM-6PM.

Where To Find The Hudson Valley Etsy Team This Weekend.

Ready for some late summer shopping? We have you covered as our team members participate in two different events this weekend.

How about a little trip up North to dress up? Dara Gallery and her wonderful masks will be participating in the Rome Revels Renaissance Festival and Artisan Market this weekend, September 6 and 7, from 10AM-6PM, in Rome, NY.
