Where To Find the Hudson Valley Etsy Team This Weekend!

What a fantastic weekend for Hudson Valley Farmers' Markets! The abundance of late summer reminds us daily of how lucky we are to live here. Tomatoes, watermelon, corn, berries-- everything is just bursting with flavor, and right in our back yards!

On Saturday, Lynn of 1846 House Soaps returns to the Pine Bush Farmers Market in Pine Bush, NY. This event goes on rain or shine on the second & fourth Saturday of each month.

You can fulfill your farm market fix on Sunday, too, and pick up some amazing handcrafted skincare products from Gwen of Beyond The Picket Fence. She'll be selling at the Beacon Farmers' Market on the Beacon Waterfront waterfront from 10am-4pm.

Have You Seen This?

The mighty oak.  I love the wood.   The oak was worshiped by the Druids and home to Norse gods. I love the acorn and all that it symbolizes.  It holds the potential of great possibilities and its future is strength and grandeur.  On top of it all the oak leaf is the ultimate symbol of autumn.  Who as a child didn't collect oak leaves and iron them between wax paper or help a kindergarten teacher pin them to a back-to-school bulletin board?  Oak leaves just scream, "Hey!  Summer's over!  Pack your bathing suit and sunscreen and break out the oak leaf earrings!"

Can we talk about these earrings?  How spectacular is the copper skeleton and the impression that they are as light and delicate as the tissue paper thin remains of an actual leaf?  But really, it's the scale. I love the size (3.25"x1.75") coupled with the airiness and color of the copper.  These bold oak leaves by JSWMetalworks are a true statement piece!  They whisper in your ears that the brisk, invigorating fall is upon you and the size tells you that you can do grand things.  Who wouldn't want to wear a pair of earrings that have so much to say?

Back To School - Not just for kids!

So there have been Back To School sales since JULY but usually the items on sale are always focused on the kids. That's great, but it's not just back to school for them, the teachers gotta get some love too! Here are some gift ideas for the teacher(s) in your life.

A pretty Merino Wool Shawl from TickledPinkKnits will work when the Air Conditioner is still cranking in the classroom in early December.

Show your new students how cool and hip you are with a Mod Dot Tote Bag from H & J Star Creations

Don't let the name fool you, a shot of Working Woman's Salt Scrub from Beyond The Picket Fence at the end of the day would be welcome in any bath - I'm sure the fellas wanna soak in the tub too every once in a while.

And speaking of the guys, I didn't forget about you either.  A nice wool hat from BeaconKnits will keep your head warm as you treck to school on what should be a Snow Day but your school decides to stay open (oh no!)

As always, you can find more great gift ideas from members of the group on Etsy by using the search tag "hvny team"
